D'oh, just noticed SusieK had already posted it, ah well.

This may be elsewhere also, or old news, but I just noticed this answer amongst the questions on receipting delays:

Q : When can I expect USCIS to process my case?

USCIS processes applications in the order they are received by application type. Due to the significant increase in the number of applications filed, processing times have been affected. As a result, average processing times for certain application types filed after June 1, 2007, may become longer. For example:

Naturalization applications may take approximately 16-18 months to process;

Family-based adjustment of status applications may take 10-12 months; and

Immigrant petitions for relatives and workers may take 9-10 months.

I wish that report gave better news. :(

And that bit about the I-130 petitions from Oct 2007, does that mean only Oct 2007 petitions will be done by mid-February or that they will have all forms current by then?

Well Justin and Masako,

Its a start :help: and at least they are taking some kind of interest in what is going on, i mean how long can we be on the back burner before the pot gets too hot? Hopefully things will settle down soon, or at least follow some normal timeframe, but again that remains to be seen, just gotta be patient, and the only word in that statement that bothers me is this>

Immigrant petitions for relatives and workers may take 9-10 months.

That word may lol, but at least we are being noticed. I just got my letter from Omsdmn today and I am sure it was pure form format, but at least I got that, cause it means they are somewhat interested altho it was geared toward the I-130 process and delays. Not going to second guess here, but glad to see some action happening for all of us, wherever we may be down the line.

It would be guessing on October petitions being caught up in February but I am sure a fair amount will be in with following months floating in like the tide. Can't forget our mates that are still in the earlier months prior to October sweating this thing out with no word.......

I already read it.I feel like Charlie Brown at school now.Remember that teacher's voice.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!

The way I read it, all I-130 forms will be up to date by early February (which means all I-130's including those filed up to the end of Jan).....remember my prediction in your Dec. filers thread? :) Maybe I called it right. Maybe not...we'll see.

I too took it to be that I-130 NOA1's will be up to date by early February, and should then (hopefully) return to the usual week or two timeframe to receive NOA1's.

I'm glad to see they've finally come out and changed their estimates on processing times, it used to be a standard 6 months for the immigrant visa's, now they're saying 9 - 10. I don't want the extra wait, but it's good to at least get some timeframes out of them.

One thing I did note in the very long report from USCIS is that they're estimating it'll take at least 2 years before the effects of this backlog are worked through. We have to file for my son at some point, I was hoping by the time that came around USCIS would be past this 'hiccup'. Guess not.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I hope that you j.debonis and kelzm but I am worried that SusieK is probably right given the track record of the USCIS processing times. :/

Still, thanks for the replies! :)

I don't believe it is "blah blah blah". I think the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service is doing the best they can. I believe at the heart of the agency, are people who are tasked with a difficult job. They play a major role in the security of our country, and I, personally, believe that not all people at the USCIS are heartless and insensitive robots just taking home a paycheck. I believe most people can understand the heartache we feel as we wait. But, due to several factors the agency has experienced unprecedented workloads. Within such a mass of work...remember, we're dealing with paperwork....some are bound to be lost...unfortunately. I don't believe the website to be blah blah blah because ever since the website started indicating updates, more and more vj'ers were posting the receipt of NOA1s and now we're even beginning to see NOA2s trickle in.

Emotion and frustration has caused some of us to falsely accuse USCIS for fabricating lies. If people here were not indicating movement within their own personal process, I would agree with such statements. But I don't.

The experience of missing our spouse or relatives is an experience I wish for no one. Simply...it hurts!!! But that is no reason to trash an agency and post false information. I say this only to add a positive post to the mix and hopefully encourage some. The USCIS is moving...despite what others are saying! Proof? Look at people's personal time lines.

Please don't get too ahead of yourselves like i did. From Priority date on my I130 i am sitting at 248 days and still no RFE or touches. After a service request, i am sitting in background check. From VJ times lines i have been in this stage 3 months. My lawyer told me long ago, "Dora will be here for Christmas". But you can NOT take these "normal" forcasts to be your own. Granted, most VJ's i have seen have gone right along with the "normal processing times". But don't get your hopes up. I am a Navy Vet and had been a US Merchant Marine Officer for 13 years, under federal oversight, and i am stuck in "background check".

I have both Senators and my Congres rep investigating the delay, as well as my immediate family contacting their reps. YOU CAN NOT EVER GUARANTEE YOUR VISA JOURNEY UNTIL IT IS OVER. Please, my friends comfort eachother.

my 2 cents, the report was released to get them off the hook. personally it just gives them more slack time to do nothing. they will get more budget more money or just do nothing either ways. just immagine the amount of funds USCIS is aflush with 3.2Mill applications x$640 (per naturalization) = insane funds for building a wall south of the border.

Removal of Conditions I797C - Dec 7th 2010

FP Jan 14th 2011

approved May11th 2011

BEST WISHES!
