ok, here's my story: please :help:

I came over here legally last march on K1, got legally married in May, sent out AOS application 2 days after wedding.

Got notified that my file was transferred to california in June.

Biometrics done in July. Got EAD in August. everything went well.

Then, no updates on my AOS til December 2007. So I called customer srvice and they advised me to make an infopass appointment.

Had infopass today and I am totally shocked of how unprofessionally we were treated.

First the imigration officer told us that my case was never received in California. He said that his screen shows that it went to Missouri and it was denied there.

:blink::blink::blink:

we never got notified or anything.

Then he gave us a whole new application kit to inquire about our denied case but he noted that it might take at least 6 months to get answers. we insisted that there had to be another way, there's no reason that they should deny our case without ever sending us an RFE or any note.

So he came up with a phone number for the Missouri office. So we called the Missouri office still at the infopass place and they told us they won't give us any information. They'd only speak to an imigration officer.

The imigration officer who gave us the number then refused to talk to the guy in Missouri.

So we asked to speak to his supervisor and thats when things got really nasty.

supervisor was a korean lady with very bad english, could hardly understand her.

Whenever she said anything she yelled at us like we were naughty little kids or breaking the law.

she said that we had no right for an infopass apt unless we were waiting for our case to be approved for longer than 4 years!!!!!!

then she said that all the people at uscis are idiots and they have nothing to do with Infopass . she claims uscis customer service would send people to her to beg for food stamps. she even asked us if we were going to ask her for food stamps!!!! #######?????

then she looked back into our case and claimed that my file is at csc and I'd have to wait for an interview up to 4 years!

I thought u don't have to interview if your case it at California service Center?

then she started screaming at us : "you want a fu--ing greencard? you have to go to a fu--ing interview, everybody has to go to an interview"

she got so nasty everybody in the room was scared. My husband asked her to please be civil and not talk to us like that but all she did was scream and ask weird questions over and over like what he does for a living ("u don't look like you work")

we were literally kicked out of there with no answers. I am in shock of how we were treated. We did everything the legal way, we were always friendly. My husband and I are both professionals but we were treated like #######.

I am totally confused about what to do now. is there another instance that we could inquire about our case? Has anyone here ever been denied for their Greencard?

My online status says that my case is pending in California but crazy-korean-lady said that means nothing and it's going to take us years to finally get approved.

I'm so confused and angry and sad!!! I would really appreciate any advice!

Sorry to hear this kind of situation that you been through... I agree what other Vj'ers advice ,file a complaint so that LADY will give some lesson.. the way she act is not acceptable ....goodluck and may GOD bless you! :innocent:

Agree with all the other comments about her unprofessionalism. Once you have your wits about you, I would definitely file a complaint.

Something seems fishy to me. I thought only the CSC or the local office (per an interview) could deny AOS. I thought the NBC (Missouri) only acted as a go between - shuffling the case either to the local office or to the CSC. (Maybe some of the old timers can correct me if I'm wrong on that one.)

I would definitely make my next course of action to verify if it is indeed still pending at the CSC. Getting your congressperson involved may be the best way to do that - don't know how swift they are at responding to emails. Heck, I'd even go on a wild hair and call USCIS customer service and see what they say, too.

This is terrible but don't worry, you will be OK! The USCIS needs a major overhaul, every time I call or deal with them I get different answers to the same questions.

I would contact everyone I could congressman, ombudsman (see below for form you will need to fill out for them to help you) and even your senator. If that fails time to hire a Imm. lawyer. I have this feeling that your case is still pending as CSC and the crazy infopass people (who contradicted each-standard USCIS practice) have, as usual, no idea what is going on. Sad really, people like that ruining peoples futures day in and day out.

Good luck and God bless, this will work out, don't worry!

This incident at your infopass sounds a lot like ours. Read my thread from a year ago http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry650390

I swear the people working at USCIS will tell you anything just to get you out of there. Hang in there as we finally got an interview about a month after our infopass and all is good now.

AMAZING!!! WE PAY THESE PEOPLE.... TWICE!!! FIRST THROUGH TAXES AND SECOND BY PAYING THE APPLICATION FEES!

We are paying for a service and do not in any way deserve to be treated badly in the least. Heck even IF these people weren't working for YOU and if you WEREN'T paying for a service they still have no right to treat you that way.

1st.... You'll be ok. You talked to some kooks who made some mistakes... PERIOD. Mistakes can happen and they should have apologized for giving you the wrong info in the first place, but don't sweat it. It sounds like your case is just, as they say, collecting dust at the CSC.

and 2nd.... DO get your Senators and Congressmen/women involved. What happened is not ok.

Also of interest, we live in Vermont and our local office is in Saint Albans.... just down the road from the VSC... but our case was transfered to CSC after stopping at the NBC in Missouri. While it seems that most people who's cases are transfered do not have interviews, some do. We are in that slim minority as our interview is set for 02/27.

BTW, where is your local office??

@mags: I didn't get any updates on my case since that 1 "touch" in August. That's why I called customer service in December just to make sure that everything is good with my application. They couldn't tell me anything other than what my online case status tells me since May- that its pending at CSC. Then customer service told me to get an infopass apt. in january if I still didn't get any updates by then.

Thank you all for your very encouraging comments and advice! I really wouldn't know what to do without VJ!

I took all your advice and printed out the Ombudsman Form and got the congressman's digits.

I will definitely keep you posted on this thread about what's going to happen!

@Neonred- I read through what happened to you at your infopass apt and I could swear we must have dealt with the same person! (except we were in NYC federal plaza not Miami)

It's just outrageous how much you have to take to just get a little bit of help or information. I wanted to rip crazy-lady's head off but that wouldn't get us anywhere and they KNOW that and that's why they treat people like #######.

She kept insisting too that she wouldn't deal with us unless our case has been pending anywhere between 2 years or 4 years and that's the standard. As soon as we tried to disagree she started yelling that she is the imigration officer and she knows everything better.

hamburgapples: I'm in NYC.

also: I got another question: crazy lady said that our affidavit of support that we admitted with the AOS application would be expired 1 year after filing and told us to prepare to file again. Is that true? I just don't believe anything she told us today. :girlwerewolf2xn:
