Everyone has an agenda, including the scientist and the reporter. Looking around you will tell you more than the local B.S. news. We all know you can find opinions to match your point and it gets very ridiculous.Frankly it tires me to see it all the time.

A church isn't typically based on science but on belief. What's based solely on belief in regards to global warming is that man has nothing to do with it. The church is made up of those that just want to believe that man's activity has nothing to do with the warming of the planet. Same as the church a few hundred years ago that defended the earth being flat against the scientists that were gathering ever mounting evidence to the contrary. The church lost that one, too.

I think that's very easy to say, and clearly you have faith (faith less understanding) that the science you are talking about is bogus. Rather less easy to prove IMO. Posting cherry picked articles doesn't do it IMO, which as I said makes this topic a rather pointless discussion for people with a lay understanding of climate science.

Here is my opinion. I think global warming is distracting us from the more pressing problem of: too many people and not enough resources. Our children will probably live out their lives without too much consequences of our actions But, our grandchildren and on will wonder why we continued to misuse the earth's resources. Less greenhouse emissions and less oil use goes hand in hand.........so what are we bitching about? Many of our problems in the US can be tied to our dependence on foreign oil. We need to get off the middle east's teat and wean ourselves and grow up. The US wants to believe it is the great world leader but......look around and our reputation is one of self serving behavior. We can and should do better. Where is the great leader to inspire us? don't look to DC at least until after the elections.

Al Gore is one guy. He's associated himself with global warming - but like the internet, he did not invent it Nor does he represent everyone who believes that this is an important issue. As far as that goes James Hansen of NASA is a rather more credible figure...

That said - I continue to find these "GW as conpiracy" debates amusing, because they happen almost exclusively within the United States, rather like cavemen trying to figure out how to get a fire started with flint and steel while everyone else is already cooking with gas.

Why can't we just use things like public health and ease of breathing as our reason for cleaning up the air? We know for a fact that higher CO2 levels make it harder to breath. We also know that sulfur dioxide has been used as a poison gas. Why can't we use those concerns to reduce emissions? Global warming is just a catch word for pundits to use.

Without CO2 our planet would not be green. Plants need CO2 just as we need O2. Without CO2 our planet would freeze over. In high concentrations CO2 is toxic but no one is suggesting that it will ever get that high.
