I-130 can both be used for K3 and CR1. Here's the comparison

CR1

$355- Application

$70- Affidavit of Support Review

$380- Immigrant Visa bill

$145-Medical at SLEC

K3

$355- Application

$145-Medical at SLEC

$1010- Adjustment of Status

There are other fees invlolved, however these are just the major ones that you need to be prepared for.

Good luck on your journey!

Hello Che and Craig,

Rina's fees are correct, but actually there is no charge to file the I-129f petition for the K3. The fee for the K3 petition is already included in the I-130 fee. The I-130 form must be filed first and is used for both the IR1/CR1 and K3 visa. The guides link above will show you the different steps for both visas.

In addition there is another K visa fee of $100 due before the interview.

I'm not sure but I have read somewhere here that you could now send K3 at the same time with CR1, but in different address of course. If that is not the case, you could do what we did. Once we saw online that the check was cashed, we printed the front and back of the check from the bank's website and that's what we used to submit with the K3 instead of waiting for the NOA1 of I-130.

well the fee for cr-1 went up also rina was right with most of it but the 380 fee went to 400 now starting jan good luck

The fee for the I-130 is still $355. It's the fee you pay for the visa which won't be until after the affidavit of support that went up to $400.
