My wife's physical is 6 days away and interview is 16 days away... can't wain't!

Hello,

It has been a while since my husband got his IR-1 visa issued (Nov. 2014) and we are finally flying to the U.S. next week. We decided to spend a couple of days in Toronto before entering Detroit but the flight that I reserved was, going directly to Detroit, with 3 hours of wait time before going to Toronto, and a couple of days later, reenter Detroit. ( I did not notice until I checked the itinerary)

So our Port of Entry is going to be at Detroit Airport before going to Toronto?

Do we have enough time to proceed the immigration?

Would it be any problem, if we go to Toronto before, instead of entering directly to the U.S.?

I'm on mobile, so can't see your husband's country, but so long as he can travel to Toronto without a visa or a green card, you should have no problems. Toronto has a poe to the United states at Pearson.

I'm not sure I understand what you have written correctly, so please correct me if I misunderstood. I understand you to say....the flight you have booked from France flies first to Detroit for a stop over (which happens to be point of POE) then to Toronto (which is where you desire to spend a few days). When you land in Detroit the first time for the stop over you will not be required to go through customs and immigration, you will just hang around the terminal/gate for the 3 hours then embark the plane to Toronto. Now, when in Toronto, you will land, get baggage and go through customs and immigration as a visitor only.

After your visiting is done and its time to fly back to Detroit for your POE, you will then do your POE at the Toronto airport as Not A Tailor suggested. I would plan on getting to the airport several hours before the flight just to be sure you make it through customs and immigration on time. Several people have reported POE at the Toronto airport as being quick but since your spouse is not Canadian it might take a bit longer. Toronto airport can be crazy so be sure to allow yourself the time.

Yes you can call. You just have to fill out the release form and send to them giving them permission to ask questions. Go for it. You have to know your spouses district all that phone easy to do

I decided to email the Jamaican Embassy yesterday; Just out of curiosity to see how they would respond, due to the complete stop in scheduling interviews for people with March CC. Anyway just as someone else stated ... The embassy referred me back to NVC... They have nothing to do with the case at this time... They stated that they will have the information on why interviews are not being scheduled. We all are brainstorming and have come to this conclusion before... The NVC isn't approving CC and scheduling interviews, basically they are pushing out CC, and have a stop on Interview scheduling after February. This is kind of annoying to me since, I have a simple fix ...But these people who manage the NVC don't have common sense. Once they give the CC schedule the interview at the same time and send it out in 1 package ... That way they kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Things will go faster that way. I am tired at this point! These people with May interviews all had their cc in Jan/Feb .... Then nothing. My case was complete on March 12, 2015... I hope by the time 6 weeks rolls around for me I have a interview date.

Why not each and everyone of you tomorrow contact your congressperson/Senator. We about what 20 to 30 countries here with who knows how many states represented it could get that logjam going.

hy guys i have question regarding medical exam.. do i have to go for medical in empty stomach ? becaz i heard you need to go empty stomach .is that true?

I have even simpler than that. You all have CC a CC gives you access to the website to schedule for your embassy. Why aren't married folk allowed its like there's a prejudice out there against us. Why does a K1 move so fast and can sxchedule befoer thet even get their paperwork together. All they need is a Case# from NVC which they get within 2 weeks of USCIS approval. Something is foul up in here I tell you.

These medicals aren't a fast kind of medical. Never have I heard of that. Call your medical place and inquiry. That's best to do.

I think this is a good idea. My only concern with my case is that I only got my CC on Monday so I doubt they will take my very seriously if I start complaining about the wait for an interview. What do you think?
