Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 24, 2011
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for 14th June 2011, but since I had all the documents ready I requested the Consulate to bring my interview date closer to end of May. My Interview date was re-scheduled for 24th May 2011. Consulate response to the emails is really very professional.

My Interview was scheduled at 9:00 AM on the day. Boarded the 1st Flight from Melbourne (Avalon Airport, 6:10 AM) and reached Sydney at 7:30 AM, lucky not to have delays in flight. Didn't wanted to stay at hotel the previous night as it is waste of money.

Straight away took the train from Domestic Terminal to St James Station (Closest to MLC Center) which took like 15 minutes in train.

Entered the MLC center 8:15 AM, took the Elevator to Lvl 10 (US Embassy Reception)

Checked my appointment details and told me to wait, where someone authorized directed me to Lvl 59.

Got in, took the ticket and waited before I was called to counter to verify my paper works and took the file out. Told me to again take a sit and wait.

Waited for 15 minutes and was called at the Interview Counter.

Flipped through the paper works and Asked me questions like
How Did u meet her?
How did the relation progressed?
Did you take permission from her father?

I was ready with all the answer, I even knew the date when I met my wife and when I proposed.

PHOTOS the main proof. As I talked about the situations I also showed photographs.

Not even 5 minutes and I heard the magical word, "Congratulations, I am approving your Visa!!!!"

Was out of the building at 9:00AM.

Pretty quick.

All done .
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
