POE Review: Newark
Event Description
Entry Date : 2010-09-10
Embassy Review : Entry was much easier than anticipated. The whole process from passport control thru the immigration desk took less than 10 minutes. Since I (the USC) was with Jean, she was alloweed to accompany me to the Passport control for USC's. The officer did not ask any questions and was very pleasant and professional. Jean had her photo and fingerprints taken and the officer escorted us back to the immigration office. At first, the officer outside directed me to wait at the baggage carousel but after politely asking, I was permitted to accompany her into the immigration waiting room. The officer handed over her brown envelope to another officer behind the desk. After a minute or two, her name was called and the officer handed back her passport with the I-94 (departure card) stamped and attached. She was told she had 90 days to marry me and that was it. We actually had to wait longer for our baggage to show up at the carousel. Overall, I was completely surprised at how fast the process was and the polite attitude of everyone we encountered.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
