Embassy Review : Again, we lined up at the park in the morning. We took a taxi and I was shocked to see so many people. Many were there for other types of visas, my fiance thought they were there for the visa lottery or family reunification. After the first group had their name called the second group gathered and we all had out names called out as well. Me and my fiance were close to the end of the list. We had to wait in the park a little longer and make a line, that took some time. You line up near a little stand where you can buy drinks and hotdogs. I would recommend getting some food and water because it is a really long wait once your inside. They took my fiance's carnet and made me fill out a form (since I am a US citizen) we went thorough a security checkpoint where we had to take all our papers out of the envelopes and turn over out cell phones. We then waited outside a little longer before we were brought into the main waiting room.

Once inside the waiting area we were with about 200 other people. There are 8 booths where you pay your visa fee, get finger prints taken and get interviewed. I was expecting the interview to be in a room or slightly more private. But the interview stations look like bank teller windows with little slots to submit paperwork and a intercom for the interview. We waited from about 9-2 inside this waiting area. Finally we were called up. They first interviewed my fiance for about 10-15 minutes they then called me in and we interview together for only about 2 minutes before she told us that were were approved ! They told him he would have the visa in a week.

That night my fiance got a call from the embassy asking him to come back the next day because the fingerprints were messed up. So he had to go all the way back to the embassy, make the same line etc to redo the fingerprints. After he did that the same women who interviewed him asked if he wanted his visa right away ! He said yes, of course, so he was able to get the visa and his paperwork all that same day !

I only gave the embassy a 4 because we were there for 8 hours and they kept showing the same Dora the Explorer video on a continuous loop all day! It was like purgatory haha...they really need to do something about the video options in the waiting area. But the women who did the interview was great, so nice, and getting the visa the next day was awesome !
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
