Comments : So now that I am out of the woods for a long while, let me give you a full review of my interview at the US Embassy in Paris... TERRIBLE experience. The person who ran the interview, was rude and impolite beyond belief. Her demeanor was appalling in general, let alone from someone holding such a prominent position. I still don't know how I managed to keep my composure as I guess I have never met any official displaying such a rude behavior. However, I want to stress that the Embassy in Paris has been the ONLY trouble maker I have met in my US immigration journey. For the rest of the process, ALL the officials I have met at USCIS were EXTREMELY courteous, helpful and efficient. YES ALL OF THEM. I have heard over and over that "the immigration system is broken". My take is that the US immigration system works just fine and that it might very well be what gravitates around the immigration system that is totally dysfunctional. So far, and besides the shameful and unacceptable demeanor I have witnessed at the US Embassy in Paris the only thing I can say is "thumbs-up"! Oh by the way: think twice before you hire a lawyer, first because I don't think the immigration process is difficult ( you just need to be extremely thorough) and then I have heard so many of them uttering inaccurate things that, I would definitely fear they would botch my case even if it is a slam dunk. Beware.

Comments : My husband starting abusing me very rapidly after our marriage so I filed for ROC on my own for extreme cruelty.
Discovered that "hubby" brought his ex-spouse from Germany & abused her here the exact same way... Stuck her as much as possible to prevent her from leaving. As for me, he "put me away" in a rural area, without a car hence no possibility to work (I am the one who could make the biggest salary). The USAF was made aware of the abuses several times around as the police came to our house and I ended up at the [military] doctor who sent me to the hospital by ambulance. The military did strictly nothing. He did not even get lectured, nor forced to attend counseling: Nothing.
USCIS people, on the other hand, have been absolutely wonderful and I cannot thank them enough. The ROC process has been fast and easy. Thanks USCIS! Forever grateful.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
