Comments : Confident, we prepared our packet and sent just copies of life insurance policies, bank accounts, and the birth certificate of our baby girl as evidence. Apparently, this was not enough and we received an RFE. Guess we were being lazy haha. So in response to the RFE, we sent copies of our driver's licenses showing the same address, complete copies of our bank statements with transaction pages, copies of our credit cards showing the numbers match (since the statement only shows the name of the primary cardholder), copies of some medical records and forms showing both of our names and our baby, income tax returns with supporting w-2 forms and attachments, credit reports showing shared accounts, boarding pass stubs from a family vacation to the Philippines, photographs of the family and relatives, and finally, two affidavits. We didn't think we had to be this thorough again since the I-130 process, but the additional evidence resulted in a quick approval a few days after responding to the RFE =D. So we suggest giving USCIS everything you can possibly give on the get-go to prove a bonafide marriage and avoid the RFE hassle later.

Event Description
Review Date : January 14, 2010
Embassy Review : My wife arrived an hour before her 8:30AM appointment and was done with the whole process by 12PM. She said that the pre-interview screening people (who were grumpy middle-aged Filipino women) were very impolite and had no respect for the applicants. Not sure if it's part of their job to act that way, but it sure pissed the hell out of my wife, haha. But the actual person who conducted the interview (a mid-40's American male) was very soft-spoken and calm. He asked basic questions about our relationship, etc. Then he approved her visa in a snap! Overall, it was an OK experience.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
