Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 30, 2010
Embassy Review : We arrived about an hour before our 8:30am appointment. There was a que to show your documents and then a second que to enter the security booth. The process took about 45 minutes. We entered the building and recieved a number from a woman at a reception desk. When we arrived there was no line but when we left there was a que for numbers. We took a seat and were called to a window to show documentation. After a brief panic when she could not locate the medical results, and answering a few generic questions ( where do you work, what will you do in US, where will you live etc)we were told to go back and wait for Interviewer to call us. If your medical was done before your Interview date was assigned it will be in a different location from the rest of your file and they need to go get it. This took maybe 5 minutes. We were called to second window and asked a few questions. All of the questions were already answered in the documents she held in front of her and she made notes on file as we spoke. She asked where we met, where we lived, why my family did not attend wedding, did we have children and would they live with us etc. Nothing difficult or scary. It was very relaxed and conversational. She had him raise his hand and take an oath and provide prints. She explained what would come in the mail and not to tamper with the file. She gave us a courier sheet. We paid the courier and were on our way. We were approved Jan 25th and the visa arrived Jan 29th.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
