Consulate Review: Qatar
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 28, 2011
Embassy Review : I was with my husband for the interview. The CO was a young American man, very polite, sort of friendly, asked me more questions at first than my husband! We are both Muslim (I wear hijab) and CO asked my husband is his family in agreement with him marrying someone of his own choice not born in Egypt. My husband said that his family isn't doesn't follow 'arranged' marriages, all his siblings chose their own spouses. CO looked at our photos, skype records, my airline tickets and photos with his family, commented he liked some of our photos. He said he "believes we have a valid marriage, but AP is a requirement that he can't avoid, but he will try to have it done as soon as possible". My husband was in AP for 12 weeks, embassy finally called him to bring his passport and got the visa. Not SO bad compared to other people.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
