Comments : Went thru immigration with Su in the Visitors line. He noticed I was born in Bangkok, and joked that I found myself a "hometown" girl, asked how long we'd been together. Then he says that he goes to Thailand often also on vacation. It made Su feel very at ease. He then explained to Su that if I ever caused harm to her (domestic violence) that she should call the police, and she would be okay as far as her green card is concerned. He told me that he's obligated to explain this to all K1's entering the country. Next he pointed us to the secondary inspection area where we waited for about 30 minutes while they did who knows what. Another officer called us, and explained we had 90 days to marry or she can go back home. Very simple and easy entry. The first officer was very nice and friendly, the second unfriendly but efficient and direct.

Consulate Review: Bangkok, Thailand
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 16, 2009
Embassy Review : Appointment scheduled for 7:30 AM. Entered the embassy approximately 7:00 AM. She was the second interview of the day. The number 1 interview didn't pass. Su couldn't tell me what the problem was though. When it was Su's turn, she was asked which language she primarily communicated with me in, she answered English. The CO told her she must interview in English. She was hoping to interview in Thai, she was already nervous enough. The interviewer asked the following questions:

* How did we meet? She works at the same office as my aunt. My aunt introduced us.

* Where did she work at? A government office

* When did we first meet in person? December 25, 2007

* When is our wedding planned? Sometime shortly after arriving in the USA

* What city does he live? Seattle (This is incorrect, Seattle is where my office is. She knows this. I think she was just confused.)

* When did you last see him? July 2009

* How many times did he come to visit you? 6 times

The interviewer quickly glanced through all the documents Su and put together, and told Su to come back next Tuesday for her visa. The whole interview lasted less a couple minutes. She was out of the embassy in less than 90 minutes. She was so excited when she called me!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
