Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines

Event Description

Embassy Review : My bb said that the consul she had was nice and friendly, as well as the pre-screener (Pinoy). Funny, the Pinoy asked her if she couldn't have found someone here in the Phil's, but jokingly. He probably thought to himself, sayang, she's really puti, hahaha. Don't worry mga bro, many still available for you guys I know. The consul commented that she didn't have my letter of employment, and was she OK that I had 2 previous divorces, but said "Guess what? Your approved!" Didn't ask for some of the things that was on the list like copies of my divorces. Here is one thing that WASN"T on the packet 4 list, a CENOMAR that was less than 6 months old, luckily we got a new one last minute. Each consul is different so they vary, just pray for a good one. She said it was easy though and we were well prepared, thanks to VJ

Embassy Review : Everything went way easier than expected. He didn't ask for all of the things that I had brought with me, like my divorces from prior marriages or proof of joint accts etc. He only needed our marriage license. Asked us about our story, and was out of there in less than 30 mins. One piece of advice is get there early enough to find parking. There is no parking area for USCIS or the Federal Building except for the employees. We asked a guard who told us to go to Horton Plaza. It's a nice mall next to the Westin Plaza Hotel which is on the East end of the Fed Bldg. You get a ticket when you enter the parking garage but take the ticket into the mall and they have a machine that will give you 3 hrs of free validation for the parking. It was enough time for us to have lunch in the mall, go to the interview and return without going over the 3 hrs. If you do go over, be prepared to pay $2/15mins. There are other parking garages like this one but they don't give you 3 hrs free, you just pay $2/15mins up to a max of $28/day. Ouch. Knowing about Horton Plaza is great inside information, but remember to give yourself time to park, get the ticket validated and walk to where the interview is. It was a nice day, we went to Coronado island and looked around a bit then made it home before traffic got bad.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
