Consulate Review: Vancouver, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 29, 2008
Embassy Review : My 12 yr old son and I flew to Vancouver for our interview in November. It was resonably painless! When we arrived at the Consulate, we had to go through 3 security check points where they checked our documents, made us walk through a metal detector and then let into a waiting room by a security guard. We were asked some questions at one wicket then asked to wait a while longer (which seemed like FOREVER!) Then we were called down a hallway and I was asked some question by an older oriental lady who was super nice and polite. She then talked to my son for a minute and we were finished!!! We were told to wait a few minutes then given the OK to come back the next day to pick up our visa's!!!!!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review:
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-11-14
Embassy Review : Our POE was Phoenix, AZ however we were interviewed again in the Calgary, AB, Canada airport before we were able to board our last and final plane to enter the USA! It was painless, however, very time consuming. We almost missed our plane because the officer was busy eating a bag of chips and helping his coworker with someone else's file (who wasn't even waiting to be helped)! Then there was the WestJet employee who tried to help us get to our plane ontime so not to miss it but was so ignorant and rude that I'm not sure how she still manages to keep her job!! But none the less, it was all really great!
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
