Consulate Review: Egypt
Review Topic: K3 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 20, 2009
Embassy Review : My husband had a very simple interview. They let everyone in around 7:15. He was called up three times. Once to hand in original documents and pay the DHL. Once to do his fingerprints. Then he waited 3 additional hours for his interview. The CO, a man, was very nice and joked with him a lot. He asked only a few questions: How we met? When did we get married? Have we visited each other since our wedding? And what my husband did for a living? That was it. My husband asked if he wanted any additional proofs and the CO said no. That we had more than enough info in our file. I made sure to send lots of proof and photos with the CR1/IR1 and K3 packets. He said we were approved but would have to wait for AP to finish. The AP will last 2-3 weeks usually he said. But sometimes longer. My husband asked him if he would like for him to leave his passport. And the CO said no he might lose it. . The only suggestion we have to make is to make sure your documents are ok and double check the papers they give you. We almost didn't receive package 3 because of a typo in his name on the DHL address. He had to really plead with the DHL guy for package 3. Then at the embassy they put the incorrect return address when he paid the DHL fee. He noticed this while waiting for his interview and asked them to correct it which they did. Then the CO forgot to take his DHL receipt and he realized this before he left and went back to give it to him. Otherwise, the interview was fine. AP. No surprise.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
