Comments : Here is my exp at the AOS interview.

We reached the office in San Bernardino at 8:00 AM
Gave the passports and interview letter to the guard and went through the check in[just as in airports] He then told us to go to the 2nd floor and put the letter in the center window. We went through the lift and walked inside to find 6 couples waiting before us. we put the letter and were asked to sit, while watching the news channel outside we saw one couple who was with a lawyer get denied and the lawyer was explaining possibilities to re-apply in spanish
[Did not understand a word but knew the gestures].

Our appointment was booked for 9:30 AM and while waiting many more couples walked in with kids and we were looking at them play while the couples that had arrived before us were being called. At 10:05 AM a Filipino elderly man came in and called my name, he did not have a smile.. He had a dead serious face and we thought thats it we are already in the deniel list.

He asked us to take a seat then asked for our ID's. Gave him my EAD and my husband gave his Drivers Licence. He took the appointment letter and made photocopies and came back and said that he needs to read a long letter and then we need to stand up for the Oath. He read the letter which said that i will be punishable by law............................ and then we took the oath and sat down.

He then confirmed all the info on the form, asked if I had anything with our names on it. I gave him bills with same address but they werent joint, gave him our flight confirmation tickets to london, marriage cirtificate, and the svaings bank account [He dint look at any of these just took them and filed them]. The officer stamped my application as Aprroved . I had a big grin and my Husband and the officer continued talking about Love and God. He then explained the removal of conditional status and wrote the date so we remember.

He told me he will stamp my passport and be back and then got back saying he needs to go down and do it... we walked along with him and he stamped my passport and wished me luck and success and said keep that smile on your face.

We thanked him and walked out.

Thank you guys for all those kind words and wishes they really helped

Consulate Review: Chennai, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 29, 2009
Embassy Review : We were asked to proceed before the others waiting in line for other VISA's... we went it and they checked me and my fiance who was with me for the interview.. we then went in and they asked us to move to another building in the same campus and when reached were asked to submit a form and wait for you number to be called, after about 45 mins we were called to submit all evidence and documents, we had to answer a couple of questions and were told to sit again untill we are called, she also gave us a number so that we could pay the fees that we had with us as a DD from HDFC bank... once paid we sat in line for our names to be called and in about 25 mins it was our time.

A white gentleman greeted us and told my fiance that he should not answer any questions or interrupt in the interview and all questions have to be answered by me and my fiance told him he would zip lock his mouth, we all laughed and he asked me how did we meet and when, i told him the answer and he asked did your parents agree, i said yes they were the one who where lookin for a groom and wanted me to get married, he smiled and then he asked my fiance all the other questions on what were we plannint o do, when would we be traveling back and he said thank you, your approved and your visa will be mailed to you in 2 weeks, we couldnt belive what we heard and my fiance asked him to repeat and confirmed, they had a jolly good laugh at this.

The overall experience was GREAT! we started with a joke and it ended with a smile and we kissed each other as we walked out
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
