Embassy Review : Hi All,

I want to share my interview experience to all of you so that you can prepare yourself well accordingly. I will try my level best to cover each and every thing.

12 Aug 2008 Day before I slept at 11:30 after checking each and everything and my husband took holiday to help me. We were communicating whole day through phone and online. He is so sweet. I love him so much.
13 Aug 2008
I woke up at 3:30 Am and freshen up by 4:00 Am. Then I offered prayer to God with peace of mind. I have booked taxi two days before and confirm his arrival on 12 th. He reached at 4:00 Am sharp at my home. I sit in the taxi and my whole family waked up to give me their best wishes as they all were so much tensed from nearly last two years because of my visa. My Parents in law, my sister in law all in US prayed for me so much and ringed me to give their blessings and suggestion for interview. They all are so sweet and so much supportive. The taxi started at 4:30 Am sharp. Then I went to Goddess Ambe Mandir to offer prayer as she is my husbands family traditional Goddess. Then from there I went to Swaminarayan Temple and the best thing was that all was there in the same route. Then I reached the embassy at 5:30 itself!!!!! Nearly one and half-hour before. Please ensure that there they do not let your car park there near embassy so you have to make your own arrangement. Then I sit and waited and sharply at 7:00 Am the gate opened and entry started. They asked me about my interview letter and passport and told me to go in line 5, which is American citizen line. Then after the checking and all I went inside and then I went to counter number 16 where they asked my interview letter and passport. Then the officer at counter took my fingerprint and kept my interview letter and passport. Then told me to wait. Then my name was announced and told me to come at counter number 17 where there was an Indian Lady and she asked me the following documents (I did not deposited the documents in VFS because I did not had sufficient time):
1.Passport photo state
2. Birth certificate
3. Police certificate
4. Marriage certificate
5. Medical report
5. DS 156 form filled and photo pasted by me already. Ensure that you not leave any column blank. Prateek has helped me in filling it perfectly. He is very perfect in all these.
6. Affidavit of support form. I134, His naturalization certificate, passport, Tax transcripts

Then she gave me a form DS 156 K to fill and a receipt to deposit my interview fees (demand draft). She told me to go at fee counter and deposit the draft and come back with receipt and DS156 K form Filled. I did accordingly and deposited my draft and cashier gave me a receipt. Then I again came back at counter 17 and gave her the filled form and receipt given by cashier. She took it and said me to wait for my final interview. This as all done by 8:00 itself. Then the wait started and my name was called at 2:15 or so. I waited so long! I was feeling sleepy. Then I went for the final round interview and the officer was an America. I greeted him and he responded back with smile. He than said we made to wait you so long and I said its ok. I understand. The officer was continuously taking the interview since the morning. Can you imagine his stamina? Still he was so fresh and smiling. The he asked me following questions:
1. Who is the petitioner?
2. How did we meet?
3. Through whom?
4. Who will meet your traveling expensed
5. Where you will live?
6. When did you meet first time?
7. When did you get engaged?
8. How many people attending you engagement?
9. When did you get married?
10. How many people attended wedding?
11. What does your husband do?
12. Which organization?
13. What did I do? I am a professor. Then he complemented that we have an excellent combination (me and my husband).
14. He asked me questions based on my subject). After that he again complimented me and said you really speak like a scholar, excellent.
15. He asked me what would I do for Job there?
16. The he asked me did you go outside India ever and I said no. The he said would you be flying alone then I said yes and he said you are very bold. Very good.

He then said congratulations you visa is approved!!!!!!!! and you will be getting it by mail with a week. Then he said I asked too many questions on your subject, and then I said I like answering them and then he smiled and said it was nice speaking with you and I said same here. I came out around 4:30.

I could not believe it’s all over. I was thinking that whether I am dreaming or what? I then ringed my husband and told him the good news and then informed everyone at home and my parents in law, sister in law everyone.

Thanks everyone for all your support and we pray for your success too. May God always Bless us all.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
