Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 7, 2008
Embassy Review : My fiancee arrived early to the consulate, about 7:30am, with her dad. They were the first to arrive, but for whatever reason she was the alst to be interviewed at 4:30pm (maybe they had a predetermined order?). Regardless, her interview was the quickest (about 5 minutes as I expected) of all the interviews, likely because she had all proper evidence, supporting documentation, a history of coming to the U.S. legally, her age, and talking in English probably helped as well.

She was asked one question that she didn't know how to answer - what is MY favorite basketball team; she replied "Yankees," then quickly realized that is a baseball team.

I didn't think they would ask her my job (thought that was a question more for AOS interview), but I am glad we prepared for it because it was a little difficult to describe to her (consulting).

Anyways, she said the officer was friendly and although my girl was very nervous, it went very well.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
