Comments : Interview was a breeze, in Spokane, WA. Lasted about 20 minutes. Sworn in, then basic questions like, what is my name, where do I live, etc. Showed a few "proofs" such as util bills, some pics, marriage certificate... then we were good to go. Went and had lunch out to celebrate! Greencard supposed to be arriving at my house in about 10 days. Life is great!

Event Description

Embassy Review : I was obviously a lot more stressed about about the whole interview than I needed to be. My interview was scheduled for 1pm. Got there 45 minutes early... we were asked to go for a coffee and come back at about 15 or 10 mins to the hour. So we went to the Starbucks adjacent to the Consulate. Went back to the Consulate at 10 to 1 and went through security.

(Note: don't bring anything electronic, or even remotely electronic). Thankfully we were already aware of this, so we left everything behind, but the woman in front of us had her cell with her... they won't even store it for you while you are at your interview, but apparently a place across the street will look after it for $5 bucks. Who knew.

Once we got upstairs, had to wait a while, then went to the window and they had us take out the main papers we needed, i.e. forms and I-134 supporting docs. After that, we sat a while longer and waited to get finger printed. Then waited a while longer for the interview.

There was only one person in front of us, but they were having computer issues today I guess, so the wait was longer. Finally we got in... the interview lasted about 5 minutes, maybe less.

She asked when and how we met and asked to see a couple pictures. And that was pretty much it. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to show her the jumbo pile of evidence we had collected She said she could tell by the smile on my face and how we looked at each other... so we were all good.

So other than the wait, which wasn't extraordinarily long... it was pretty quick and easy.

I just gotta pick up my visa tomorrow afternoon and we're good to go! Yay!

Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
