Consulate Review: Warsaw, Poland
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 11, 2008
Embassy Review : Today we received our K1 visa!

We were scheduled to go on Nov 5 and we did, however my fiance didn't have here extended polish birth certificate, so the consulate told us we had to come back with it. She was also acting strange like she didn't believe our story of how we met.

For those of you applying for your visa in Poland, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ZUPELNY BIRTH CERTIFICATE. They accept originals or EXTRACTS.

So we were stressing for the next few days that we need to explain our story better or something.

Today, we went back after we got the form and waited to be called after giving the cashier the Birth certificate. When she called us up, she said "Ok, everything is fine, you'll receive your visa within 5 days by DHL"

Thats it!

She didnt ask us any more questions, she never even looked at a single piece of proof of relationship, living together, any affidavit support documents... NOTHING.

So basically, all we gave the cashier was these documents (who gave them to the consulate later):
DS-156
DS-156K
Affidavit of support + co sponsor affidavit of support.
Police certificate
Birth certificate (must be ZUPELNY full and extended version)
Medical exam sealed
2 passport style picture
Passport
Receipt of payment for visa
and they took her fingerprints right then
Thats it!

We had a stack of proof and bank documents and utility bills, pay stubs, years of tax returns, dozens of photos. They didn't look at a single one of them.

It was very stressful waiting, but the process was simple. And we got the visa finally!

Also when we had to return the second time to give the new birth certificate, we didn't have to wait in line again, they let us right through to the front so we were first in line. Perfect

The consulate lady was very unfriendly seeming and even cold. She didn't make much eye contact, wasn't happy that we were happy that we got a visa. I guess she didn't find her own fiance yet! She just needs some lovin'. Doesn't really matter because WE GOT THE VISA!!!

Well thanks for all the help from everyone!!!!!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
