Embassy Review : Arrived at the embassy at 7:45 for our 8:00 appointment. Took longer to get there than we expected (about 40 minutes from Miraflores). At 8:10 Jorge was called to window 14 where he was asked for several forms. At 8:40 he was called to window 13 and asked for the remainder of his forms. The woman asked him questions about when and how we met and typed them into her computer. At 9:30 he was called to door 15. I went in with him and the man asked Jorge a couple of questions and took his fingerprints. He then asked me a question in Spanish and I asked if he minded speaking to me in English (I was nervous enough without having to think!). He replied in Spanish "You don{t speak Spanish?" and I replied, in Spanish, "Yes I do but it is easier for me in English". He gave me a bit of a glare so I said "OK, Spanish is fine". He asked Jorge when we met and how many times. He then asked me to leave the room (which I found very odd- I have never heard of that before) so he could talk to Jorge alone. It made me very nervous, but 5 minutes later I was called back in. He asked me only one question, in English, "What made you fall in love with Jorge?" I answered and he seemed satisfied and told us we were approved. We paid and were told to pick up the passport in a few days at a specified location. That was it- we were out of there by 10:00. It was a little scary but overall ok. We are very relieved that it is over and very happy to know we can now be together.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
