Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 12, 2008
Embassy Review : hi,

I had reached the consulate , welll before time. around 45 mins. you have to stand in a queue which is adjacent to the consulate for the first morning interviews. We have to keep all the documents ready in a transparent bag. Its better men and women travel with no extra luggage or belts or any other material like mobiles, staplers, pins and other stuff which is prohibited in the Consulate. The things which are not allowed in the consulate are on thier website. Only people who have the interview are allowed inside the embassy. No relatives or friends allowed.

The Embassy is pretty organised, Instructions are crisp, fast, point to point and in three languages English, Gujarati, and Hindi..... Gujuarati instructions are there and language is used a lot in Consulate. English is crisp and fast.

Everything is well organised and its pretty comfortable if we are well prepared with our paper work and is all organised and in order.

ITS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO SUBMITT ALL DOCS TO VFS WHICH ARE MENTIONED TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE INTERVIEW LETTER. THE CONSULAR OFFICER ARE TOO BUSY AND THEN DONT HAVE THAT MUCH TIME TO LOOK THROUGH DOCUMENTS.

All in all a perfect consulate.

God bless America.
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : My flight landed and within an hour or so I was out of the airport.... the only menace was because my airline put my luggage in the wrong cart wheel. the officer, the customs people were alll good to me.

Lots of Immigrants come each day as i saw a bag of yellow enclosed envelopes all over the flooor.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
