Event Description
Review Date : August 3, 2008
Embassy Review : I was able to attend the interview with my fiancee and her son and it was fortunate that I did! We had a terrible experience with the Ukrainian staff person that examined our documents. She was unbelievably hostile and rude. She snatched our documents and threw the ones that she did not need back at us. She lectured us about buying our tickets before receiving the visa (we had no choice given our schedule)and they then told us that my fiancee's 19 yo son would not be able to adjust status from a K2 visa and would have to return to Ukraine in 90 days (this is completely incorrect) and then lectured us again for thinking that it was "so simple" to take children to the US. Eventually the CO arrived, asked questions about our relationship and gave us the pink slip. The next day I realized that he did not take a sworn statement from my finacee nor did he complete the DS156(k) document (which would have been a big problem for us if I hadn't caught this mistake. We returned the next day and pointed out the mistake. She was sworn and we finished. We have now, fortunately, received our visas, but it was a very difficult experience. javascript:emoticon('')

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
