Told us at the beginning of the interview that our petition was already approved, just here to see if we wanted to continue the position. Then asked questions about how we met, what our wedding was like, how many people came, when we met each other’s families, etc. Verified info about my spouse’s work background, family’s names, and address, then asked all the yes/no questions on the form. At the end, told us she couldn’t approve because she needed to do background checks, but that we’d get a decision in the mail. She didn’t ask to see any of the documents we brought with us. We got an RFE in the mail a few days later that was sent the day of our interview asking for the non-translated version of a birth certificate, which we brought to the interview, but was not asked for then. I don't think they have much time to review the packets before the interviews. Sent in the response to the RFE the next day (10/29) with one-day shipping. Never got any online update, so called on 11/7 and said case was approved 11/6. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
