Event Description

Embassy Review : I had reached the embassy at 6.45 am and my appointment was at 7.30 am.
It wasn’t that crowded as it’s the last working day of the year. One of the officers came and asked the immigrant visa applications to proceed first. We were escorted inside the embassy - documents they checked for K1 were appointment letter and passport. We went through security check and into the Hall where they interview applicants.
We were asked to wait in the line to get a token number and arrange our documents - DS160 confirmation page, passport, medical report, pcc, birth certificate and it’s photocopy. After getting the token number we were asked to wait.
Next, when my token number was displayed on the tv, I approached the specific numbered window. She asked for my fiance’s documents and I had a co-sponsor so I had given her his documents as well. She sorted it out as per her needs and prepared a file. She asked me to take a seat and wait.

After my token number was displayed on the tv screen, I went to the specified window and a counsellor officer was waiting there who was going to take my interview.
He took my finger prints while he asked me the following questions:
- have I been to the US before?
-how and when did I meet my fiancé ?
- why did we decide to get married in the US and not India?
- what did he study in the US?
- has he met my parents and how are they taking this? What’s their view culturally ?
- can I see some photographs with him?

The next thing he said was ‘well I guess you’re approved’. The moment he said that I was stoked !!!
I said thanks a lot. He explained to me the domestic violence thing!!!

I got done at 8.45 am and had a nice trident breakfast with my mommy.
Best day ever!! :D
