Yea well we are glad it was not the 5-7 months that USCIS officially quotes for the CSC. Based on other trends we have been following from other petitioners, we are right in line. We've seen as early as 77 days NOA1-NOA2.
Electrichead64 on 2019-08-16 said:
Thanks.
Chocolatecookie on 2019-08-16 said:
I checked the noa2 to interview is down to 3 months. Very good trend.
Electrichead64 on 2019-08-16 said:
Thats about what we are hoping for and planning to target.. I work on a research vessel anyway(usually 2 months on / 2 months off) and the earliest I can pick her up would be late November anyway. So we are targeting VOH November. I hope to have her home before Thanksgiving, but Christmas is OK too.

my case has reached NVC today. i am sure yours has got there too. fingers crossed

I called Friday. Not yet. Planning on calling later today too.

Yea. Hehe. Good thing I am off work for the next 2 weeks.
Chocolatecookie on 2019-09-03 said:
i am looking at the processing times. Thanksgiving dinner seems quite likely. :)
Electrichead64 on 2019-09-10 said:
Yea the only tight part is I dont get released from the ship until Nov 21st. So its going to be Nov 21 - Home, Nov 22 - enroute to Manila, 3 days on the ground, Eagle Has Landed sometime Nov 27th likely. Plan on sticking a turkey in the freezer before I leave for the ship =)
Chocolatecookie on 2019-09-24 said:
congratulations on having your interview scheduled. we are still waiting for packet 3
Electrichead64 on 2019-09-24 said:
What is packet 3?
Chocolatecookie on 2019-09-24 said:
instructions from the consulate/embassy to submit ds160 and passport photos
Electrichead64 on 2019-09-25 said:
Why are you waiting? Is case ready status according to NVC yet?
Chocolatecookie on 2019-09-25 said:
yes. it was ready for a few days. then, it changed to admin processing, waiting for it to be "ready" again.
Electrichead64 on 2019-09-25 said:
oh weird. Hope everything is OK. We sent our DS-160 electronically and made our medical appointments and embassy appointments as soon as it became READY. We waited for nothing else. So far so good. Everything still ready and appointments are still confirmed.
Chocolatecookie on 2019-09-25 said:
Great to hear! Probably the process is different for China. It needs two more extra steps (packet 3 and packet 4) before scheduling an interview appointment. Seems you will have your fiance over here while turkey is growing. :) Happy for you guys!
Electrichead64 on 2019-09-26 said:
Yes, thats the plan. We should land November 25th. I've made final flight arrangements since I last spoke of dates. Planes are booked. Tickets are bought and paid for. We land in the USA Nov 25th in time for turkey, assuming she passes her medical and interview .. which she will. I have no doubt. USEM interview is scheduled for Oct 15, so PLENTY of time time get visa in hand by the time I arrive .. because the earliest I can possibly get there is Nov 23rd because of my work. I'm in the Gulf of California RIGHT NOW. Heh. I dont even have to cook turkey when I get home, we're going over to my best friends house to have Thanksgiving Dinner with his family. Good luck to you.

Medical passed today.
Chocolatecookie on 2019-10-03 said:
Congrats on the medical. One step closer to the finish line. You have planned really well. Your thanksgiving dinner should be counted down to the minute from now. We are hoping for an interview in Oct if possible. Then we will get married in Nov, get her drivers license, ssn, put her on my insurance, send out i485 before we get on our honeymoon cruise in .Mid Dec. Busy list but a lot to look forward to

I think you and I are crunching things about the same. Its a little stressful, but it's a whole lot of fun. I think the morning of Nov 26th we are going to wake up, throw on some jeans and a T shirt and head on down to the country courthouse and declare ourselves married, sign some papers, pay $40. Then on the way home hit up a jewelry store because I don't even have ring yet and I'm not sure of my size. Can't really afford a gold one that month, so we got on the topic of titanium rings, which sounded like a good idea to me, and her .. and now SHE wants one so we can match. And have them engraved. She's very sweet and adorable like that and so, I'm like .. OK! I'm all about living by my own rules anyway. She has a nice simple 14K gold bridal set that is basically band only and a solitary diamond that's about 1/4 carat in a simple setting. Its real, its not very expensive (I got a heck of a deal on it), and she loves it, and it fits, but she wants a simple band for everyday wear as well. So we are going to do that, then I found a vendor on Amazon that we like the rings and the price and they do engraving so, win-win, and we will wait a few days for those probably. In the meantime, after we get married and get the official paperwork, head down to the utility company to get her name on my electric bill because I can then take that to the DPS and get her a Texas State ID card. She needs it, dont want her carrying around a passport all the time. Then we head into the office, give her a brief tour , and show her off in front of all the doubters and haters, and then head to HR to get her on my insurance. Luckily I don't need a SSN for her for that. Then we are going to do start the AOS, so I can start the EAD application (even though she wont be working for a while), so I can start the SSN application. Because I cant get her any bank accounts or put her on any bank accounts until I get that, and more importantly, I'm going to need that SSN by April 15th for tax season. Getting married before the end of CY 2019 and being able to put her on my taxes as married filing jointly is worth about an extra $2000 to us, by my calculations, and we need the money. I think we will go over to a friends house for Thanksgiving Dinner. I will probably get adventurous and bring some wine, and if I get real adventurous, I'll turn it into Sangria before I go. She hasn't strengthened her palate for the fuzzy merlots and cabernet sauvignons just yet so I have to go with mellow and sweet. Following week I'll take her to the doctor and dentist for initial full exam. Then I gotta come up with a good plan on how to leave her some money while I'm out of the country working on the ship and do it in such a way where its controlled, not because I don't trust her, but because she is inexperienced with shopping in the USA and while shes pretty frugal by nature there are still certain things to look out for here and to know, and we cant afford any surprises on our budget. She worries about making mistakes and me getting angry at her, and I said I wouldn't do that but at the same time I'm not going to give her the opportunity TO make mistakes. I'm thinking a prepaid debit card at the local grocery store is probably the hot ticket and the customer service people there assure me they don't check for ID unless there's a problem. Somehow I have to come up with a solution for a wedding dress. I found one at David's that I really really like a to the point her and I are passionate about it, and I'm going to try to get that one. Its discounted already because its a discontinued style. Its only $700 before alterations she doesn't even want me to spend that much, but I and her really like it and I promised her a dress for at least to stage wedding photos with, even if after the fact and to maybe have something already when we return to the Philippines and do a mock wedding and reception for the family. I'm just kind of balking at the final out the door price WITH alterations and I'm not sure if I can cash flow that yet, or if it will even be available still by the time we land. Its kind of a crap-shoot at this point. We're not even going to do anything for Christmas even though I would like to. I have only owned my house for 2 years and I've never had a tree in it yet, no reason to, no family there before now. And no stock of ornaments and lights and I'm old school and I have very particular tastes. I don't believe in cheap stuff and I like glass ornaments ONLY. I just don't have time this year to throw anything together. Then I leave for the ship again for 2 months starting December 30th. Yea. Fun. I'm not worried. Shes a smart girl and a strong girl and I've got friends and family to help her while I'm gone. When we checked October was still pretty wide open for interviews, but our NVC date was 9/6/2019 and here it is October already. So good luck, but I don't know.

I just found your timeline and we are going through the same process. I hope ours goes as quickly as yours did. NOA1 received last week. Been living in the Philippines for over 3 years and with my fiancé for over a year. I don't have to tell you finding a good Philippina woman is one of the best things that can happen to a man. Congrats on getting your visa approved. Hopefully we won't be far behind you.

sorry about the multiples. it kept saying failed

I understand. If you are in the Philippines you must be on a soup can and string internet. Same thing happens to me sometimes, I work on a research ship and all we have is slow VSAT internet. Latency is horrible, dont even think about gaming. Takes a full second for the packet to even land sometimes. And its only 2mbit connection that I have to share with 100 other people. I get doubles all the time.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
