Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 23, 2018
Embassy Review : We (my US fiance petitioner, his sister and I) reached the embassy around 7 am for the 7:15 interview. We were nervous seeing huge crowd outside the embassy no clue where to go, after couple of minutes the security people directed us to go stand in immigrant line. while standing in line embassy employees came to us asked too see the passport and Appointment letter that's when we realised my fiance forgot his original US passport even tho we had photocopy they didn't let him in i insisted him to go back to the hotel to get it but they still didn't let him in saying its not much of a help to go now blah blah..by this time i was already inside waiting for my fiance hoping he's gonna show up soon... i spent most of the time staring at the doorway javascript:emoticon('') Later a guy came up to me and asked me to organise my stuff also told me to be ready with all the docs. After waiting couple of minutes my number was called i was sent to an indian guy who politely greeted and asked me to hand over my documents i was carrying and continued asking few basic questions..I came back sat and waited for almost an hour by the time i was called again but this time it was an american officer. He seemed very serious and shooted rapid fire, straight forward questions, at some point he even tried to confuse me javascript:emoticon('') after 25 to 30 questions he seemed satisfied and started reading some scripted instructions and asked me if i went through the domestic violence pamphlet. I said yes.he then silently started typing in his computer for 5 mins. Finally handed me a white slip saying YOU'RE APPROVED. I didn't waste a single minute there rushed to my fiance whos waiting outside to tell him the good news.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
