Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 9, 2018
Embassy Review : My fiancé and I went to the consulate around 7:30 AM. The greeter said we were "late" even though we had an 8:05 AM show time. But most people were already inside, so I guess we could have been earlier. We waited around three hours, and ended up being near the end, only a few people left by the time we were called up.

However, after all the work we invested putting things together, picking pictures, writing the timeline...the officer had me go sit down to wait and asked my fiancé some straightforward questions. Didn't even look at our relationship book! It was quick, and we got the visa issued. Woohoo! Relationship book becomes a keepsake, now, I guess. Everything was smooth and professional, quite pleased with the outcome.

David.

Congrats on approval of N400. May I ask if you have the option to choose oath date?

We did not ask; we were just given the date. But I think you can requests change if necessary.

Thank you for your reply. Saw previous cases where offered same day oath. Not sure if it's still an option as Covid eased. Congrats again!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
