Harassment Level : 0
Comments : If you are connecting MIA good luck, if you are thinking about it, find another airport especially if you are travelling with kids and have a lot of checked luggage... The distance from the plane to customs is a cool 20 mins if you walk slow, the distance from customs to recheck bags is another 20 mins, I even had to go up escalators with my luggage and the distance between terminals..... my gosh!!!!!! It was at least 30 mins and more...Anyway, upon my arrival I got to customs and the officer in the booth took my packets, and passports and told me stand against "the wall" . Two minutes later another officer took me and about 12 others to "the room" ...I immediately heard my name as I sat down but it was just because another officer wanted me to move to a less empty adjoining room which I didn't mind. There was only one officer working on that side. I sat for about 45 minutes before he called me up and all he wanted to confirm was the address and he gave me back the consent letter which I didn't even see him open. Within 5 minutes he stamped our passports (k1/k2) called me up again and told me I can go and that was it. No interrogation or anything and they were all nice for the most part...

Comments : Interview was relatively short. I was only asked the questions from the AOS application and for a copy of my marriage certificate because she couldn't find it. Then we were approved on the spot. She didn't ask for any evidence either. I also had a K2 whom I did not take to the interview but it wasn't necessary. I spent no more than 15 minutes, we went straight into the room after we cleared security.

Consulate Review: Trinidad & Tobago
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 16, 2018
Embassy Review : My overall experience was fine. Only thing that sucked was I was the last person to leave the embassy that day, out of like 10 IV. Even NIV was cleared out before I got called and I was there from 7:30 til around 3/4 ....SLOW right. Anywho. When I got there I waited for my name to be called to submit my documents, the lady receiving them was nice and playful with my 3yr old. She took what she needed and gave me back what they didnt need. Sent back out to wait some more, which was agonizing with a restless 3 year old. Fast forward to interview, the consular was a nice lady overall,no screw face, no bad attitude, no harsh tones...Which made me relax more because some of them arent that pleasant..Anyway ,I was asked basic question, where we met, how , what we did when he came here, did we sleep in the same beds, future plans, does my daughter like him etc. Nothing where I had to think too much about the answer. I also had screenshots of conversations which the consular read thru, and yes she read all, asked a couple more questions which were already answered in the screen shots and photos. Sorted thru some more stuff , handed me back what they dont usually keep and stuff like that... at the end of the interview I was missin the W2's which my fiance reeeeeefused to send because of fear of identity theft and a Canadian police certificate which I had no clue on how to obtain. So if you ever lived anywhere else, yes they really do ask for those police certificates. So, she said she doesnt need any more evidence because she was satisfied but I needed the w2's and she gave me info in how to obtain a Canadian police record. She gave me a white paper (221g) with those two requirements on it and explained some steps for me when resubmitting my passport and that was it...interview was fine overall except for the missing stuff.

It took 6 weeks to obtain that Canadian police record btw. When I sent the stuff back in both visas were approved within 5 working days
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
