Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview date 7/25/17: We arrived very early in the morning (around 6, I think?) for our 7:00 "appointment." There were hundreds of other people already there; There were several lines, and security was there directing people to the correct lines. We waited maybe 15 minutes for the lines to actually open and start moving; Then moved to another line that took 15 to 20 minutes to get up to the security checkpoint; Then we were able to go inside to the building where they actually conduct the interviews; We waited for our number to be called for them to review that we had the correct paperwork, and then we were given another number to go wait some more. I think we were called up just before 9am, the officer was a young man, very friendly, spoke spanish and english interchangeably between my fiance and I. It took about 5 minutes, he only asked a couple of basic questions (where my fiance will live when he comes to the US, when is the last time I was here to visit him, what are our wedding plans) and then told us congratulations our visa is approved! I was prepared with tons of extra documentation and photos, but nobody asked for any of it. (This might be because our initial application included adequate proof of relationship). I think all they took was my fiance's passport, appointment letter, and medical stuff. I don't even remember if they took his police certificate. We walked out just past 9am, so about 3 hours in total, most of it in agonizing waiting! Most people seemed to leave with smiles on their faces.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
