Event Description

Embassy Review : Got to Port-of-Spain super early!! Waited to medical office to open to go collect my medical the morning of the interview. Got to embassy around 8:30AM and went to place where you can leave your phone for a small fee. Waited till it was 8:45 and they were calling people who had 9:00am appointments to assemble.
Went through the usual security check/search etc. Then proceeded to desk where folder was handed to me to place my documents in and then I sat and waited. Between the wait outside, getting in and now sitting waiting was about 35-40mins when I heard my name called to come to the appropriate window, I went (VERY pleasant local lady attended to me at this point and I handed over the requested documents and was then asked for proof of relationship, I had a LOT because Nico and I write actual mail to each other and have from even before we met in person first time. I was encouraged to submit EVERYTHING!! I was told to go back and wait for my name to be called for interview
At about 10:25 i was called in to interview, took oath and proceeded
CO: How did you guys meet?
Me: On FB
CO: *Looks at me to elaborate more*
Me: It was 2011....and I went into our whole story
CO: What do people think of your story
CO: And your parents?
CO: Wedding date
I answered everything honestly. Told we had a date but preferred another date for X reasons
The entire time I was interviewed CO was typing and passing back some of the proof of relationship stuff
when I saw it got down to my Passport and I saw CO about to hand me a paper I thought "Oh crap "
But then CO kept passport and handed over paper and said "Congratulations, You have been approved!"
You can go call your fiance!!!
Interview lasted like 10-12mins
I nearly passed out because I have been denied 3 tourist visas- 2012. 2015, 2016.
Absolutely surreal

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
