Port of Entry Review

Port of Entry : San Francisco
POE Date : 2017-09-27
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : The Immigration Officer at the Port of Entry (SFO Airport) was just fine. She looked at my (U.S.) Passport, and marked my (now wife, then) Fiancée’s Visa, and gave her a pamphlet on Trafficking, which she explained.

We went through the same line, together. Had asked before, and was told that I should get in the line for U.S. Passport holders, and she should get in the line for Foreigners, but we got in the same line (for Foreigners) together. There were no problems with this, when we got to the Immigration Officer.

Comments : They (USCIS) had made a mistake. They approved our I-751 (we never needed an interview, they approved our I-751 based on it alone. Our newborn son’s Birth Certificate probably didn’t hurt, either) but the NOA said that they would NOT be sending a Green Card, since they had approved our N-400. Well, we had not submitted an N-400 (not yet, anyway). It has taken a LONG time, to correct this, and get our card.

Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 31, 2022
Embassy Review : The interview was just fine. My (now) wife (then, fiancée) did not have to wait long, and the interview went well: our application was approved. We had “front-loaded” our application with a lot of pictures, at well known, easily recognizable (at least to Immigration Officers at the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City) photos of us together (we had traveled around the country, so we submitted photos of us in front of landmarks (such as the Long Bien Bridge in Hanoi, Halong Bay, the Imperial City in Hue, The Dragon Bridge in Danang, and some famous sites there in Ho Chi Minh City. One which I w came up with myself, and was particularly proud of, was a photo Isfahan the two of us, in front if her Mother’s house, showing the house number placards (which would end up matching her address on our application.))) I think that all of these photos helped.
Rating : Very Good

Local US CIS Office Review: Sacramento CA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : February 4, 2021
Embassy Review : The interview was made with me (the U.S. Citizen spouse), my wife (the Vietnamese born Beneficiary, who entered on a Fiacee Visa) and the Immigration Officer (and a Vietnamese Interpreter on the speakerphone).

The Immigration Officer swore us in and then reviewed the questions on our application. Very quickly, the Immigration Officer combined the questions, about offenses, about every five, into one. The interview went quick. After about 15 minutes, the Immigration Officer said: “You’re approved... do you have any questions?” After we responded in the negative, she said that we should receive the Green Card in the Mail in a few days, and that if we didn’t have it in 30 days, she instructed us on where to contact. She also reminded us to apply for Removal of Conditions, and that we could submit the application 90 days before two years from the date (that very day) of our approval (and interview).
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
