Consulate Review: Trinidad & Tobago
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 3, 2017
Embassy Review : So I arrived at the embassy at 8:30 am, waited outside for about 15 minutes and then was asked to enter, walked to reception and received a folder with a list of items to put in the folder.... about 9:20 am my name was called to review the folder and all the items were taken, some questions were asked for identity verification i assume, these were - who is the petitioner?, what is her contact number?, my(beneficiary) address and phone number as well.
I was then asked to step out and wait for my name to be called for the interview. At 11:15 am my name was called again javascript:emoticon('') for the interview.

Questions asked:
CO: how are you? Me: nervous and hungry lol
CO: oh let's see how quickly we can get u out of here then javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('') (i was extremely happy with this response put my mind at ease a bit before the questions came)

who is the petitioner?
what is the relationship to the petitioner?
how did you and ur fiancé meet?
where did we meet?
has she ever been to trinidad?
how many times have you seen each other since being together?
do u get along well with her family?(feel like this question came because we are same-sex)
where did the proposal happen?
Who proposed?
When did u propose?
How long have u known each other?
any previous marriages?
When do u plan to get married?
what are the plans for the wedding?
Where does my fiancé work?
what does she do there?

CO: well congratulations your visa is approved

The CO was very nice and basically asked the questions while reviewing my package which was lengthy... her questions corresponded to the part of the package she was looking at the time.

My advice: just be very prepared with all your documentation and be honest.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
