Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 28, 2020
Embassy Review : Went in there for my K1 visa interview on November 19. I had the interview at 1 pm. I arrived 15 minutes early and I was the first one waiting. After a while we got called up front, one by one. I showed my appointment confirmation and they checked it and let me in. I had binders with me but I had to get all my documents out of my binder. Luckily for me I had a wrapper around all my documents. I found them to be strict but kind. As you pass security you'll go to a first desk where you have to give your passport and DS160. They put a sticker on your passport for once they send the visa back to you. I was first so I was also called first to the next window where I had to give all of my forms they request for on the checklist you receive in the mail. After that you sit down and wait to hear your name being called. I think I waited 15 minutes for my name to be called. They asked me a few questions about how we met, when we got engaged, if my now husband has ever visited me and why not. Those were easy questions for someone to answer if you have a real relationship. I mean, just be confident and honest and they will know. I found them to be very kind, they told me I was approved but they couldn't change my status yet because my medical test results weren't in yet. I checked a few days later and it changed to visa issued. I received it in the beginning of December.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
