Comments : Received email/text receipt and notice of NOA1 sent in the mail on 9-27-2016, awaiting form I-797 in mail

Update - received I-797 NOA1 notice of receipt in mail on Saturday, October 1st. Can now track case on USCIS case tracker site. Tracker currently states last action was on 9-28-2016, case status says Case was Received on 9-23-2016 and notice of receipt mailed.

NOA2 email/text received 9:45pm CST from CSC, case approved - 10-21-2016

NOA2 letter received in the mail today - 10-27-2016, now have alien registration number and approval is valid until 02-20-2017, awaiting NVC receipt of approved application

NVC received our petition on 11-14-2016. Called them on 11-15, and they received it on the day before I called. As of 11-15-2016, we are awaiting assignment of embassy case number. They told us to allow for up to six weeks for that, and that we'd be notified. Plan on continuing to call until we get our case number and can track it online again.

NVC case number assigned on 11-16-2016, case status "At NVC", tracker provides incorrect information stating to follow 6 steps related to CR-1 and K3 visas, ignore this if your case is a K1 like our's, no need to do DS-261, etc for fiance visa, this is an error in the online tracker

Case status checked again the next day, case is "In Transit" to Manila embassy as of 11-17-2016

Case status checked today and case has been received by the embassy in Manila as of 11-21-2016, marked "Ready" on the tracker

Interview date set for 12-27-2016! We could have chosen Dec 1st for an earlier date but chose the 27th so we could both attend our interview together (petitioner and beneficiary)

Received approval email from Manila embassy last night on 12-16-2016, stating that we can schedule our interview. Medical will be on 12-19-2016, interview still set for 12-27-2016.

NOTE: we made a mistake on our interview appointment scheduling and scheduled it with an old DS-160. I called the embassy on 12-15-2016 and the interview scheduler helped us correct it and emailed us a new appointment confirmation with the same interview date and correct DS-160

Medical done at St Luke's on 12-19, and returned there on 12-20 for immunizations and results. Results given on 12-20-2016 came back as "passed", interview still on schedule for 12-27-2016

Event Description
Review Date : June 6, 2020
Embassy Review : Interview went well (this was on June 6, 2017 - just updating my timeline today), we were not approved in-office before we left however. The officer claimed we needed form I-693, a new medical exam/vaccinations done here in the U.S. She believed that the medical exam we did in the Philippines for our K1 was no longer valid because it had been more than a year between the interview and her medical exam.

We anticipated this might occur and had brought a print-out of form I-693inst page 8 (top portion of the form highlighted), which states that the 1 year requirement is not between the medical exam and the interview, but for having filed for AOS within 1 year of having the overseas medical exam - which we did do.

Fortunately, the officer agreed to take this up with her boss, but would not be approving us until getting clarification on the requirement, and sent us home telling us to wait for their reply. On our way home from the interview, within 2 hours, we received a text message with the approval for the green card.

Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
