Comments : The K-1 interview in Santo Domingo went something like this: first you go through security check point at the embassy and once complete with security you wait in an open courtyard outside where they have a snackbar and coffee until someone comes to ask people who are present for their different type of visas to line up. Once you get to the front of the line you will go to a window where an officer will ask you some preliminary questions. I believe a number is provided at that time and then you wait for them to call you up as shown in the screen. The interviewing officer swears you in with your significant other then starts the interview which is again conducted at a window not an office with closed doors. It is odd because you will be at a counter talking through a window like you are at a bank and others who are waiting to be called are all in the same area. The interviewing officer was nice and pleasant and will ask questiions about the relationship, once that part is comolete they may or maynot let you know the visa has been approved. A pamphlet is provided about domestic violence and I believe they may check the appplying persons finger prints or take them again.

Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 21, 2017
Embassy Review : Pretty organized, people who work there were helpful un amswering questions and directing people to their respective areas for their interviews. Actual people who performed the interview were straight forward and friendly.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
