Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 1, 2017
Embassy Review : Overall a very good experience. Entered the consulate around 7:15 am for 7:30 am appointment. Documents were reviewed by an Indian officer within 15 minutes of entry. Gave him IRS approval for extension for filing (email from taxact) and W2 for 2016. He kept the W2 form but returned the filing extension approval email.
Waited for 2 hours before my token number was called for interview by an American officer who posed the following questions:
1)Who is calling you?
2) Name of your husband?
3) What does your husband do for living?
4) Name of the company where your husband works?
5) Love marriage or arranged marriage?
6) Who arranged the marriage?
7) When did your husband visit you last?
8) Where did you travel together last? Was it your honeymoon trip?
9) Are you excited to be traveling to USA?
The officer kept typing into his computer during the above question answers. Then he said "Your visa is approved" and handed over the approval paper.
Came out of the consulate by 9:55 am and had my breakfast.
Note: There is no cafeteria inside the consulate. The waiting time was more. Otherwise it was a good experience.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Dallas
Event Description
Entry Date : 2017-05-15
Embassy Review : Smooth entry to USA at DFW airport.
Directed first to permanent resident line but did not know what status to use in automated passport system. Was redirected to non US citizen line. Passed thro the passport control and secondary inspection smoothly in about 20 minutes. Cleared customs and came out of the airport in about 45 minutes.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
