Comments : We arrived about 15 mins before our 11am appt in Norfolk, VA. They called us back to a private room about 11:15. She had us raise our right hands and swear in. The first thing she asked is if we had any evidence to present to support our marriage. I brought joint phone bill, rental lease with both our names, joint car insurance, my life insurance with him listed as the beneficiary. She didn't even glance at them or blink an eye. She was just staring at us saying "uh huh... ok.. what else" (talk about intimidating) then she asked for pictures to add to our file and all i had was our wedding album and a screenshot of our photographers blog. So she seemed kind of annoyed and asked to look through our album. Then she started asking about the timeline of our entire relationship and the dates of life events like cancer and the death of his dad.. (?) She continued looking through our album and said she rarely sees actual weddings rather than a courthouse style wedding. She started to tear up and expressed how much love she sees between us and how blessed we are by God. She went from intimidatingly tough to soft and sweet and said she recommends us for approval and that she hopes to find a love like ours someday. We had the online status change by the time we walked out to the car!!! We were with her about 20 minutes!

I was concerned about the health packet because we never sent or filled out any health paperwork or vaccine papers with his AOS because they took it at his port of entry and we had no copies of anything! I figured we would get an RFE to have his health redone since it's been over a year since the one for k-1 but all she said was "his health packet was submitted for his k-1 correct?" And we said yes and she said great!

I think that's about all the details I can remember! Glad to be done for 2 years!

Embassy Review : My fiance had his interview Oct 27th 2016! And we were APPROVED!!! here's how it went and what they asked for those also interviewing in New Delhi:

He arrived only 10 mins before his appointment due to traffic.
The first counter they took some of his documents and gave him a token number.
The second counter they took his passport and i-134 papers. They did ask for the ORIGINAL i-134 and we had scans of everything due to unreliable mail there. A group of 4 of them talked amongst themselves and finally accepted the papers the way they were. Do yourself a favor and mail originals!
The third counter was the consular for the interview!
He had a young american woman probably in her late 20s.
She asked a LOT of questions despite us front loading as much proof as we could. I think because we have only met once, so fair enough.

Questions asked:
whats her full name and birthday?
How did you meet?
Is it arranged or love?
where did she go to high school?
have you met in person? how long was she here? show proof.
you've only met once? did she come to see you or for other business?
do you have more pics?
When do you want to get married? Where?
Is your family coming to the wedding? why not?
how many kids do you plan to have?
when do you plan to leave india?
does she go to church?
What do you like about her?
then she looked through more evidence and found a picture of all my bridesmaids trying on the bridesmaids dress I picked, so she had him tell her who each person was and how I knew them. (he did good!)

after that she seemed content and said the magic words YOUR VISA IS APPROVED!

he was there a total of 4 hours

Visa available for pickup in 3-5 business days!

We are over the mooooon ecstatic!! so much nervousness over and a weight off our shoulders. SO ready to begin life with my best friend <3

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
