Event Description
Review Date : June 9, 2016
Embassy Review : Hi Everyone!

GOD is SO GOOD!!!
Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find. (Matthew 7:7)

I promised myself to write a review after my interview. I felt the need to share it so that people with the same case as mine would be enlightened.

Well, I am a Filipino Citizen with Permanent Residency in Canada.

My fiance went with me to the U.S. Embassy.
We arrived at 6am. We crossed the High way and chilled out at Starbucks for about 15 minutes.
Back to the Embassy, still no one was out there...
We read the Instructions posted at the Glass wall of the Embassy.
Though the contents of my bag were all documents, we still decided to go back to our car and leave it right there.
Now, upon going back to the car park, we met two good looking men.
We thought, maybe they are CO's!!! They also looked at both of us... lol

Minutes later around 6:25am, we went back again at the Embassy and still no one except us was there.

Now, at 6:40am, people began to arrive...

We met two lovely couples yesterday.
However, we found some issues with them.
The first couple told us that they're going to get married in Canada and then in the U.S... We didn't bother to mind their business because there are people that I know of that they get married in their place after their visas were approved. I and my fiance didn't like the idea...
It depends on the couple. In our opinion, when you say k1 visa, meaning, you are going to get married in the U.S. no more no less.
They seemed to be very happy about it and they seemed really confident.

The second couple forgot to print out their CONFIRMATION page DS160.
They were advised to print it. It took them a long time to maybe find a place to print it out because even after our interview, still, we didn't see them on the 19th floor.

Me and my fiance felt a little bit uncomfortable because we brought a whole bunch of documents and evidence and we even laughed at ourselves when we think about it.
But, the point is, it doesn't matter how heavy those documents are.
What matters is, when the CO would ask anything, then you can give it to them right away with a SMILE...

Around 7:40AM, the GUARDS went out and then asked us to ready our Passports and Confirmation page(this is really really important).

Went inside the Embassy floor and was welcomed by the Welcoming Lady.
Checked my Name and gave our number and the list of documents to prepare.
I could not really recall everything but that included my:
1. Passport
2. Confirmation of payment
3. Medical Result

We then passed through SECURITY Check.

And then we were told to go downstairs and wait...

We waited in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and then off we went up to the 19th floor.
There, the CO's waiting for you to interview...
Well, they have their Restrooms up there, so no problem at all.

We were called to Window 1 and have my fingerprints and the Review of my documents. The guy was a bit toxic and my fiance and I were so stressed because I left my wallet in my bag just minutes ago and he was looking for my original PR card.. I was just so lucky, I scanned and made a copy of it.. And also, my fiance, the tax copy that he printed out was not Official. We were really worried about it.

After the review of documents, we were asked to go back at our seats.

We prayed and then after 3-5 minutes, my number was called at Window 8.

My fiance went with me but was asked to wait outside...

Soooo the CO was one of the Guys we just saw when we were about to go back to the car park. (I think he noticed me too)

He asked more about me, on what VISA did I use to come here, what type of Visa. I was nervous so I forgot that I have QSW ahahahhaa... and I didn't know what to say so I just answered Immigrant... and I don't know... but I was a nurse in the Philippines. He told me the problem with some people is they don't know what visa they were applying for...it really hit me.. but he was smirking...

He also asked about my fiance's work and how often he comes here...

After that, he said your VISA has been APPROVED!

I was relieved after his approval but before I left the Window, I told him if he could at least take a look at our photos. javascript:emoticon('')

That guy was really cool. He took time to browse our little photo book!javascript:emoticon('')

We were very very happy that the CO was really nice and funny.

My fiance however, told me I was too loud and he could hear my laugh from outside...loljavascript:emoticon('')

Anyway, the stress this journey has led me and my fiance was worth it!

Just take time to review and complete the papers before the interview so you won't have any regrets.

With the TAX, it is the descrition of the CO. He didn't ask for it at the interview.
My original PR card? NO... he told me why didn't I ask my fiance to get it for me but I explained everything and he proceeded with other questions.

All in all, my interview was I think less than 5 minutes.

The CO was so SMART! he's the MAN with the EYE GLASSES. loljavascript:emoticon('')

The preliminary interview?the most toxic...however, it is also a blessing in disguise.
He was just making sure everything is perfectly reviewed.

The final interview? Not toxic at all... it was a conversation... don't get nervous like me...haha..it's not worth it...javascript:emoticon('')

A big THANK you to all VISAJOURNEY Members and the HOST... I really appreciate the help you've contributed to OUR JOURNEY...javascript:emoticon('')

But the KEY is? PRAYER... God bless Everyone!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
