Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 26, 2016
Embassy Review : Interview was scheduled at 10am, but arrived at 8:30am. We stood in line and went to the first window to drop off documents ( police certification, birth certificate, marriage certificate etc). We were asked for our names, address in the United States and how long we have been married. We were then told to sit down and wait for our number to get called for the "official interview". at 11am we were called to the second window and were asked the following questions:

What are your names?
How did you meet?
How long have you been married for?
Where did you get married?
Who attended your wedding?

My husband was then asked:

Where does your wife work?
What does she do at work?
Where does your wife live?

After about 3 minutes (NO LIE 3 MINUTES) we were handed a white slip with instructions and told congratulations your visa has been approved.. your passport will be ready in 15 days.

My husband's passport was ready in 2 days!

Overall an amazing experience!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
