Consulate Review: Guyana
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 17, 2016
Embassy Review : Interview was scheduled for 8am and we arrived at 7:30 am. The process was smooth as we were out by 8:45am. We met with two officers. The first one was guyanese and he collected my fiances police clearance, birth certificate, passport photos and proof that he paid the visa fee. He also took his finger prints. Officer asked me how long I was in the country for and i told him a few days. We were then sent back outside to wait and go over a domestic voilence waiver. He was then called in the second time and this time it was by an american and she asked him who I was and then asked me what my name was. Other questions asked were

1. Where/how did we meet?
2. How many times have I travelled to Guyana?
3. When did he propose?
4. When is the wedding?
5. If his family will attend and how many people will attend
6. How long have we been together?

I was not asked for any proof but maybe that was because I sent in a few with my petition.

That was about it and then she said his visa was approved.Very nice lady.

My advice would be to be relaxed as possible because it is not as nerve recking as I thought it would be.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
