Comments : The main focus as we entered Houston POE was did we bring any fruit, spices or food. I went into the Visa line with my fiancee and his daughter (he is a widow). I bring this up, because the immigration officer at the POE asked if she was our daughter. I explained that we are here on a K1/K2 and then my fiancee chimed in and said he was a widow and she is his daughter. They asked the same question when they moved him to another room to open up the sealed envelope. They also asked about fruit, etc. (I would be careful not to bring your favorite egusi seeds or anything else that is fish, fruit or seeds! SAFE NO FOOD!)

Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview was 4/14/16

We arrived at 5 am. We had everything in order because of VJ! They tried to convince us we needed a color copy of our data page (wrong! out.. N1000)

I (fiancee) stood outside in car park because we are not allowed into the interview. I prophesied that he would be interviewed by a woman and helped by two! We laugh. Happened!

1. Who is petitioning for you? Answered
2. When did your fiancee divorce? Answered
3. What are the ages of her children? Answered
4. When was her last trip to Nigeria? August for missions and again she has been here since November 2015.
5. She is here now? Yes, she came with me to the interview and she has been here since last year.
6. Is this your daughter? Answered.
7. Is this your only child? Yes, only living child in the world, I am a widow.
8. Your fiancee is here in Nigeria? Yes, she has been here with me to bond with me and my daughter.
9. What does your fiancee do for work? Answered.
10. What do you do? Answered.
11. Your fiancee has been here since last year and what about her job? She is able to work from Nigeria, he job only requires an internet connection.
12. So you fiancee has been here since what part of last year? November 22.
13. Why did you marry since she has been here this long? She wants to be married with family and friends.

We never sent anything with the application except 6 pictures. We came prepared to give call logs, chats, facebook, pictures, etc. None of this was asked for. Also, my affidavit of support did not the latest tax return, so I backed it up with bank statements and my last 4 years of 1099's.

CO circled an address on the paper and told him to pickup his Visa in 3 weeks. He picked up his papers and pulled his baby girl into his arms and walked out the door. Before he could get out the door he said the security had to give him a seat because he was very emotional and tears where not stopping. When he saw me, our baby girl ran into my arms and I could tell by his face that he was approved. He got down on his knees and pulled me down to my knees and before the whole world we gave our thanks to God Almighty.

We have not had one glitch in this process! The waiting was trying, but worth every beautiful moment! I found out how patient my future husband is! WE filed on 12/15/2016 and received the Visa on 5/3/2016. Why did I decide to come to Nigeria and stay for 5 months? I made a promise I would stay till we went together to the US. Once, I met my little girl and her being only 4 years old, she would never understand why I would be leaving. She had already lost her mother when she was 2 years old. My fiancee has been through so much, to lose his wife during childbirth and the financial implications of his business dwindling (that is Nigeria economy right now). God brought us together through a former employee of mine and I thank God every day for his hand and the miracle he gave us! I never knew how much I needed him till one day in Nigeria through the excruciating heat and immense cravings for "tacos". I fell apart and the way he went into the other room, brought the anointing oil and prayed for me. When he was finished praying, he told me that no one has sacrificed like I have for him and his baby girl. He will spend the rest of his life through actions showing me his love and dedication to me. He wiped the tears from my face and I made a decision to carry on with joyous attitude.. never knowing that my journey would be 4 more months! God is glorious and He brings such good things to those who believe and wait. I would give one word of advise. Cherish each moment, Do not worry and God will reveal all you need to know if you allow him too! Rest!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
