Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 8, 2016
Embassy Review : Showed up at 7:40 as per my scheduled interview time, but it took at least an hour or more to actually get to the first window where a very nice lady asked for all of our documents. *WE DIDN'T BRING COPIES OF MY FIANCE'S TAX RETURNS, JUST HIS W-2. THANKFULLY THIS WASN'T A PROBLEM FOR US BUT PLEASE DON'T FORGET THIS FOR ANYONE ELSE GOING THROUGH IT.*

After handing all of our documents to the lady, we sat down again and waited for probably another 40 minutes. I was called up for the interview portion (fiance not allowed to come to this part). The gentleman who interviewed me only asked me how my fiance and I met. Then we made small talk and he said "Your Visa is approved." That was it. A good experience overall. Probably took 2 or 2.5 hours total.

Also, on all the documentation, it says "No cell phones or other electronic devices allowed within US Consulate" so my fiance and I didn't bring ours, but virtually everyone had their phone and they were just stored away at the consulate so it's actually no problem to bring one.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
