Consulate Review: New Delhi, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 19, 2016
Embassy Review : 1. Rescheduled my interview date :
Due to some reason I could not my attend my NVC scheduled interview , so I rescheduled it through ustraveldocs.com/in (steps: create a profile with your true details , select schedule appointment from the left hand side menu , select the desired bio-metric and interview date(the date you select would be your bio-metric date and the next day will be your interview date) )

2. Medical @ Max Hospital , Panchsheel Park.(7th June 2016)
I had made an appointment , to be honest it really does not matter , you can just walk-in.
Mine was at 9 a.m. , had to first change my dress(to a dress they provide), had my blood test , chest x-ray , eye-sight , height , weight, blood pressure etc and finally consultation with the doctor , she did the basic test and asked a few things(past medical history) and finally asked me to take two booster vaccination shots(MMR and IDAP).(Everything was quick)
I was supposed to collect the report on a Saturday since Monday was my interview , When i reached the guy said they had some issues with their scanner because of which they could not release my report and they couldn't do much about it as well. But the guy was kind enough and said that he will come next day which was a Sunday for me and a few others , and he did what he said , managed to fix the scanner and get my report done.

So a THUMBS UP to Max , Panchsheel Park.

3. Bio-metrics (VAC, Nehru Place delhi)(10th June 2016)
My appointment was at 8.45 am, I reached around 8:55 a.m., there was a line for the 8:45 am. appointment , I quickly got into it , the guy checked my passport , appointment letter and the DS-260 confirmation page , asked me to go in , they had a security check first , asked to switch off my mobile phone , went in , there was a counter where they checked the same documents again and asked to me get a token , My number came in real quick , the guy took the document(passport/appointment letter/ds-260 page), the guy will take a photograph and will ask you to give your fingerprints and that's it...you are done
Everything done within 15 to 20 mins .
a THUMBS UP again

4. Interview Day(US Embassy Visa center, Delhi)(13th June 2016)
Reached the Embassy around 8.15 am , for the 9 am interview , around 8:30 am. they asked the 9 am. appointment guys to queue up, there were two lines (immigrants and non-immigrants) the immigrant line was very small relatively , took around 10 mins to get in, after that security check (where they don not allow any electronic devices inside so do take a note of it).
Once you enter inside , the volunteers will ask you to follow the red line which is for immigrants , I ended up at a counter where they asked for my documents and they arranged it and asked to stand at the counter number 21, there was a American lady and a Indian guy(standing as a translator) they checked my documents and gave me a token number and asked me to wait till my number would be called , had to wait around 45 mins for my number to be called out , there was Indian lady , she asked for my documents.
questions asked
1. Who is calling you ?
2. What do you do ?
3. Have you ever been to the United States before. ?
4. Whats your permanent address ?
5. asked for W2 of year 2015 of my sponsor(i had a joint sponsor)
6. Which city would you be staying once you reach the United States ?
7. Is your spouse working , if yes where ?
8. asked for original police clearance certificates.

she had our file which we had sent to the NVC, she gave back a few documents from the file , arranged the required papers and handed me a United States rights and duties of the spouse act book , which she asked to me read while I wait for my file visa interview.
I waited around for an hour and finally my NAME was called , at the counter was a American lady , she spoke Hindi as well .
1. asked me to take an oath
2. who is calling you ?
3. what do I do ?
4. What does my spouse do ?
5. Whom does my spouse live with and where ?
6. Why a joint sponsor
7. When was the wedding ?
8. Were my spouse parents there for the wedding , asked if I had any proof of it , I had a photo from the wedding , which I showed .
9. How many times did we see each other after the wedding.

that's it , she said your visa is approved ....SIGH....

next day I got a mail , saying your documents are ready to be collected .
Went to the VAC office the next day , took my appointment letter , a ID proof(original and copy) , got my passport and the sealed envelop within 5 mins.

All in all everything went smooth by the grace of God !

Thank you everyone for your support .

ALL the best to everyone.

Cheers

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
