Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Detroit
POE Date : 2016-09-05
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : The Immigration database was down for 45 minutes after we got in line, but we planned a 3 hour layover "just in case." Once the database was working again the Immigration agent interviewed Karl for about 10 minutes, going through our paperwork and asking a few simple questions. He was friendly, and told Karl "Welcome home," and told me, the US citizen, "Welcome back."

Just a note, the agents were NOT friendly to those who didn't have their paperwork in order, especially after a 45 minute outage of the Immigration system. Be prepared!

Comments : Our appointment letter was lost in the shuffle of us moving, we called into USCIS customer service on 11/11/19 and they sent us a copy of the letter. We walked into the Cleveland office and got the biometrics done, and the case status was updated later that evening.

We did our interview on 7/13/20, after our April appointment was cancelled due to COVID. Interview was about 15 minutes, the agents at the Cleveland have always been very kind.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
