Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 18, 2017
Embassy Review : My appointment was for 8:30am and was allowed to check in no earlier than 8. I was given a laminated sheet with a number and a list of documents they required for me to get in the order they stated on the list. I then had to clear security just like at the airport. They then direct you down a flight of stairs to an elevator. In the elevator the only floor you have access to is 19. Once on 19 you wait until they call your number and tell you what window they want you at. They called my number at about 8:45am. At the window they asked for the paperwork they required (passport/long form birth certificate...etc.). They told me that the would keep the original for review and they would be returned to me during my interview. I was then instructed to have a seat and wait for my number to be called for the interview portion. They called my number at about 9:30. The guy who interviewed me was very business like and respectful. Asked me some very general questions about my relationship and if I thought I would have a hard time getting a job. He told me he was going to approve my visa and that I should have the package in about 5 business days.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
