Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 6, 2016
Embassy Review : My appointment was scheduled for 1pm on Tuesday May 3rd. I arrived at the embassy at 10:30am (I was mildly anxious)

After lining up in two lines (one short, one fairly longer) I entered the embassy at approximately 11am.

I was in and out within half an hour. My ticket number was called twice (two separate windows).

Documents Needed:

- Passport
- Visa size pic
- Appointment Letter
- DS-160
- Police Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- I-134 (I offered supporting documents to the interviewer who politely declined)

Questions (seemed more like an informal chat to me!!!)

What is the name off your Fiance? (Me: Matthew)
Did you meet him on your previous J1? (Me: Nope)
*Shocked face when I said no*
So how did you meet him: (Me: we worked on cruise ships together)
Oh, I see, what were your positions (Me: I was a personal concierge and he was an Environmental Officer)
What is a personal concierge? (me: Assisting guests who were high value to the company... basically making their vacations as perfect as possible)
Ah, Okay. Where are you moving to: (me: about 90 mins outside of Boston)
Oh yeah? Where abouts? (me: Rehoboth, its Mass but kinda close to Rhode island)
I know it, Im from Connecticut myself (me: not too far then!)
So you like Baseball? (me: all about the Red Sox!)
and Basketball? (me: Celtics all the way!)
You’re passing the quiz! (me: Woohoo!!!)
Okay your visa is approved! (me: AWESOME!!!!!)
You’ll receive it in approximately 14 days (me: Thank you)
***I stand in silence***
(Me: Thats it???????) *interviewer laughs*Thats it

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
