Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 22, 2016
Embassy Review : My fiancé couldn't attend the interview with me, so I went there with my mom. My interview was scheduled for 8h20, but we got there around 6h45, as I live in the other side of the city and was afraid of getting stuck in traffic. So, at 6h45 we waited in line until 7h, the moment when we got it. NOTE: cellphones aren't allowed in the Consulate, so if you need to bring yours, you can leave them with some guys who keep your phone for you. My mom paid R$16 for both our phones.
Ok, so then we walked in and went upstairs, where Alex gave us a form and instructed us on how to fill it out. He is very helpful! The interview itself was very nice, the consul is a nice guy and asked a few questions. Everything very punctual. At the end he said "your passport will be ready in about 2 weeks". =D
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
