Event Description
Review Date : September 9, 2016
Embassy Review : Our appointment was at 9:30am. The line wasn't long when we got there ~30 mins before our appointment. We had all the necessary paperwork and got right in. It was easy to check the one phone we brought with us (we didn't bring anything else). Several people were turned away because they brought large bags with them. And I know of at least one person who wasn't let in because they were too early.

We received a laminated card that listed all the paperwork they might request and the order it needed to be assembled. We gathered the items while we waited. It says on the card that if you don't have your paperwork together in the order requested, they will ask you to go and do it while they take the next person.

It took about 45 mins for our number to be called. We met with a very nice lady who collected our paperwork. Then went back to our seat to wait another 10-15 mins for the second interview. I (petitioner) was not allowed to go up with my fiance for the second interview. My fiance said the interviewer asked a few questions, where I lived, how we met, then talked for a little bit. The second interview took about 5 minutes.

Total time was about 1.5 to 1.75 hours, most of it waiting. The interview is by far the easiest part of this process.

Logistics - we stayed at a place called Parc Suites Hotel. It's about a 10 minute walk to both medisys and the consulate. I highly recommend (you can find them on Airbnb or a web search and can sometimes catch a deal). There is an amazing burger joint across the street (Chef on Call), a grocery store next door as well as a Starbucks AND a Tim Horton's right across the street. It was extremely convenient.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
